2015 Beautification Award
The breathtaking grounds at Botsford Commons were awarded with the 2015 Beautification Award from the City of Farmington Hills. Maureen O’Connell, property management coordinator, was pleased to accept the award from Dan Irvin, Executive Director of the Greater Farmington Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday evening. The celebration for area businesses, commercial properties and residential properties was at the Costick Center in Farmington Hills. Botsford Commons has been working hard on their grounds this year, adding new driveways to the condominiums, replacing the main entrance bridge off of Nine Mile road, and adding beautiful knockout roses to their lush gardens. . Linda S. Mlynarek Excellence in Long-Term Care Public Relations Award

Recognition for Excellence in Safety
Botsford Commons’ partner in food service, Sodexo, has achieved a new standard in safety worth recognizing. Since May of 2012, the full service kitchen and its staff managed by Judy McMahon, General Manager of Food and Nutrition, has not reported an accident. As of March 26, 2015, it’s been 1,060 days without an accident to be exact. “It’s really amazing if you think about it,” McMahon speaks about her team, “we’re working in a full service kitchen with steam, sharp knives, hot surfaces, wet floors and heavy trays - without an accident in almost 3 years.” Read full story.
Seniors Enjoy Painting With a Twist in Farmington
At age 90, Sally Lepofsky did something recently for the very first time, painting.
"I call it 'Sally's Creation'...and I'm liking it because I can do what I want, even if it's ugly," she said, chuckling as she showed off her color-filled canvas.
Lepofsky was one of 15 seniors in their 80s and 90s from Farmington Hills' Botsford Commons which offers independent living, assisted living and long-term care to share an outing at Painting With a Twist in Farmington a few days ago.
